N A P L // Napoli meets Kagoshima
My graphic design project that combines the distinctive elements of Naples with the charming kawaii aesthetics of Japan. This project was born from the captivating resemblance between the picturesque view of Kagoshima in Japan and the iconic Vesuvius view of Naples. The striking similarity between the two volcanoes, Kagoshima's active Sakurajima and Naples' historic Vesuvius, sparked an intriguing connection that ignited our creative process.
My goal was to capture the raw beauty of volcanoes in both Japanese and Neapolitan culture, while infusing it with elements of artistic expression and playfulness.

- The bookmarks and prints represent a unique fusion between the figure of Partenope and the delightful world of sushi. I've created a cute character that embodies the joy and sweetness of kawaii culture, depicting Partenope with a fish tail that transforms into a variety of sushi, such as maki and nigiri.
- Furthermore, I've designed a connection between the traditional Neapolitan dish of spaghetti with lupini and the Japanese specialty of udon noodles. Using kawaii elements, I've made the spaghetti with lupini adorable and colorful, just like udon. This unique and imaginative representation creates a visual link between the traditional dishes of both cultures, highlighting their diversity while celebrating their connection.

I'm thrilled to share this fusion of cultures through our graphic design project. I hope our bookmarks and prints inspire you and fill your heart with happiness, creating a bridge between two distant culinary traditions, united by a shared love for creativity and beauty.
